Building Relationships, Reputations, and Strategic Communication
The Department of Media – Public Relations at Manhattan International University examines the strategic management of communication between organizations and their stakeholders. Our programs blend theoretical understanding of public opinion and media systems with practical skills in campaign planning, content creation, and relationship building. We develop communication professionals who can navigate complex information environments, manage reputation challenges, and create meaningful engagement between organizations and their publics.
The curriculum covers public relations theory, campaign planning and management, media relations, crisis communication, digital PR strategies, and stakeholder engagement. Students learn to write for various PR contexts (press releases, speeches, social media content), plan and execute events, measure campaign effectiveness, and manage issues before they become crises. The program emphasizes ethical practice, corporate social responsibility, and the role of PR in organizational leadership and decision-making.
Practical learning includes developing PR campaigns for real clients, media training simulations, and managing the college’s public relations efforts. Our industry connections with PR agencies, corporate communication departments, and public sector organizations provide valuable internship opportunities. London’s concentration of PR firms and media outlets offers exceptional networking prospects. Graduates pursue careers as PR account executives, communication managers, media relations specialists, social media managers, and corporate affairs advisors across commercial, public, and non-profit sectors.
