Cultivating Leaders in Nutritional Science for Global Wellbeing
The Department of Health Nutrition at Manhattan International University is dedicated to addressing one of the most pressing global challenges: the intersection of diet, health, and disease. Our comprehensive programmes move beyond basic dietary advice to explore the complex scientific, social, and psychological factors that influence nutritional status and public health outcomes. In a world grappling with both malnutrition and obesity, with rising rates of chronic diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular conditions, our mission is to educate a new generation of nutritionists, dieticians, and public health experts equipped with evidence-based knowledge and practical skills.
Our curriculum is built on a robust foundation of physiological sciences, including biochemistry, human metabolism, and endocrinology, allowing students to understand how macronutrients and micronutrients function at a cellular level. We then expand into clinical nutrition, where students learn to assess nutritional status, manage therapeutic diets for specific conditions, and work alongside healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. A significant pillar of our department is public health and community nutrition. Here, students develop strategies for health promotion, design and evaluate community-based interventions, and learn to influence policy to create healthier food environments for diverse populations.
Leveraging our institution’s accreditation and Erasmus+ partnerships, we offer unique opportunities for international study and research. Students can examine comparative nutrition policies across Europe, study the Mediterranean diet in its cultural context, or participate in research projects addressing food insecurity. Our graduates are prepared for dynamic careers as clinical dieticians in hospitals, public health nutritionists in government agencies, consultants for the food industry, researchers, and advocates in non-profit organizations, driving the mission for a healthier, better-nourished global community.
